Emerald Shiner Stingers have been working great for salmon. 2.7 mph
Fishing has been great for salmon. Catching them 10 to 27 feet on Emerald Shiner Stingers. Salmon bite has slowed a little but there are plenty of lake trout to catch. Friend caught a 14 pounder yesterday.
Salmon bite is hot right now with some big salmon being caught. Due to the warm spring they are going to go deep quick this year so if you want to go on a salmon charter book it. We catch salmon all year but the deeper they go the harder they are to catch. We catch lots of lakers all year. Some nice lakers are being boated.
This time of year you want to head for the river mouths or shallow water back in the bays to find some good catches of salmon. Look for water in the mid 40s and fish just 2 to 5 feet. Planner boards work well. I like to run a couple of small stick baits just under the surface. Pin Minnows work well. I run some stingers on the down riggers. Action is going to heat up in the next few weeks. Fish for lakers anywhere just under the surface.
Salmon bite is picking up with some nice salmon coming on the surface. I’ve seen some up to 8 lbs. Lakers are everywhere on the surface as usual for this time of year. The water temperature is around 41 which is a little chilly but if you get into those back bays or river mouths and find some in the high 40s, you’ll find some good trout fishing.
